I develop maps for Homeworld 2 as an independent map developer and I can tell you if you guys can get the OP of EVE : RTS back into developing the mod you will have a lot of fun developing maps for the mod as you can basically create any conflict that you want, RTS wise and play it. All mod and addon sites do is take away from the more pita aspects of modding. That is to say.. You could go to a mod site that has the handy dandy manager to stack mods and manage them. In other games I was lucky enough to be in guilds where we had expert developers who made some amazing UI tweaks. Never made the common mod sites. These UI tweaks gave us massive edges. These were private use, guild only. And the crew had stricter recruiting. If an inlfatrator made it to where they got the mod We who stayed in guild were running new revisions that made it work even better in addition to other goodies they created later. At some level one reason mod sites exist is to boost e-ego of mod makers. Looky here y'all For devs who don't have an ego Varying amount work for a mod seen by only a handful of peeps.
