For your specific problem of crash upon launch, it can be one of quite a few things and probably won't be the easiest to diagnose, especially as you're using the script extender. I will try my best to provide some things to try and hopefully we'll get lucky First, ensure you are launching the game from the script extender. Do this by visiting Nexus. Disable half of your mods and fire up the game - if all goes well, the bad mod is in the remaining half. If you're still crashing, it's one of the ones you disabled. Continue to split the mod pool into halves each time until you've narrowed down which mods work and which don't - this can be very laborious and tedious too so I'd start by thinning down your list to essential mods before starting this process. If after all this you are still having crashing issues then we need to dig deeper and start to think about using Xedit to find mod conflicts but this is getting a bit advanced for this first try. I'd probably start again at this point with a fresh set of mods perhaps with MO2 as this is more suitable for advanced users and only load one or two mods at a time to check all is working. Loading mods all at once is a recipe for disaster but we all do it so don't feel too bad: As a side note: Make sure you download your mods to the same drive as Skyrim is on as the hard-links that Vortex and MO2 create will not work across differing drives. XmisterC Thanks for the advice! I appriciate the detailed response. I just disabeled every mod a few days ago and then re-added them one at a time. I've been able to get some mods for the origional Skyrim working in VR such as the Lord of the Rings weapons pack. Some other weapons mods like the rapier crafting one jsut cause the game to crash though. I've noticed that some texture replacers for origional Skyrim cause my game to crash so I've been using the ones for Skyrim SE for environemnt and NPC tweeks. I've been trying to get new land mods for SE working such as Bruma and Mara's Island without any success. I'll play around with the ini fix you suggested and see if that will fix things. I'm experiencing a similar thing myself and i feel like i need a detailed guide on how to wipe away any and all traces of any and all aspects of skyrim and advanced mod systems from your computer to make it as though skyrim was never installed and you never moded it. Because I just recently tried to make a small tweak to a mod using tes5edit and whole system crashed while i was doing it and after wards my skyrim was utterly defunct ad could oly run without mods and if even one mod was active it would fail the moment the main meu loaded but before the main menu text appeared. My vortex doesn't particularly like my system though or SSE, which is likely my systems fault more than vortex's. Try deleting your archive and plugin files. I had managed to mess up Fallout 4 so bad that it crashed every time I tried to enter Diamond City. I deleted my plugins, archive, and the entire game folder and when I installed it again it worked just fine. You may also have to upgrade your computer if it is not powerful enough to run the game smoothly. Graphics card matters the most for this I believe. Good luck fixing your issue.
