The more independent I will fee myself as an author - the less stress and more free time I'll have - and so, the faster new updates and modules will arrive, and new projects will appear as well. But support only if you really want it and able to:. Minor update 4. For the changelog of the update 4. Tired of Fallout 4 and Fallout 76? Take a look at this promising spiritual successfor of classic Fallout games:. While purely technically you can combine them, it will require a decent amounf of manual work in FNVEdit to make them work together properly, and one will still majorly overwrite each other, so the effectiveness of such a procedure will be pretty minimal. Now, a list of mods which is meant to be used together to mostly substitute Project Nevada features with a better script optimization. This "difficulty rebalance and abilities" module consists of various gameplay-altering mods - combat, AI, various overhauls, magic related mods, realism and some other, but with a specific goal - to give you a good setup of different gameplay changes so the overall difficulty, be it combat or economy, would be nor casual neither hardcore, but somewhere in the middle to appeal to most of tastes in general. If you want more things, and things to be more challenging, but you're easily overwhelmed when there's too much new stuff, this module is a great setup for you. It will partially cross with others, but what differs it from them is the exact pick of some mods in situations where you have the choice, to maintain the difficulty balance mentioned. You can combine it with other modules as you wish. Hey there folks! This is a one-time popup - close it and it won't appear again. Good luck on the path! Stability Graphics section Gameplay section. Also remember that everything about graphics - lighting, saturation, brightness, shaders, like on new water look in the video , depth of field, letterbox "black bars" - can be configured or disabled:. Now, the first and most important rule. Keeping it will load your gun with super bullets and give you stable game even with hundreds of mods installed. First of all, make sure your system is prepared: Make sure you have latest game version and all DLCs. Most of mods require DLCs to work properly - if you won't have DLCs, your game simply won't launch when using many dozens of popular mods. Graphics mods mostly will work fine with any language version, but many gameplay mods will not work properly with other languages and I won't be able to provide troubleshooting support in this case. Follow the guide and use only what's recommended here. To install, just download and run the file. For modding, a new game is required. No exceptions. Smashing tons of mods on existing save just won't work properly. Make sure you don't have the game installed in Program Files. If you have it there - reinstall it on another drive, or at the same drive, but out of Program Files folder. Overwriting - guide is written with a proper installation order in mind this is mostly relevant to stability section and graphics section , so generally simply overwrite everything when asked if you're using NMM or give bigger priority MO. The order of mods in the list is also the proper order for installing them. In some cases when you will need to overwrite certain mods and not overwrite other ones - I'll mention that and provide clear instructions. Before you'll start, watch the video below. Don't pay attention that it's recorded in Skyrim - all the terms and base principles are literally the same in both games. Watch this video completely, from start to finish. Even if you know most of terms explained in it - you'll still find something new, and for modding newcomers it will answer on most of basic questions:. Disable mouse acceleration: In your game main directory where game. This mod is technically a utility mod initially, but with the more and more updates to is, it started to cover vast amount of gameplay moments too, and now it's just an incredible huge collection of tweaks to all possible things over ! It can and will make your life in NV much more comfortable and more realistic, if you wanna. Disable pip-boy in combat, make weapon realoding manual and skill requirements matter for muh realism if you wanna. Remove annoying delays between hacking attemps, choose between key and lockpick for the lock, hide quest items from inventory to not clutter it, improve pickup promt and pickpocketing mechanics, and over hundred of various utility and gameplay tweaks plus bugfixes. Just browse the mod page to see how actually huge it is. And with all this fully configurable! Amazing, isn't it? You can configure it yourself or use my personal. But wait, if there are few hundreds of features in it, how can I be sure your pre-configured inis are balanced and will fit my taste? This plugin expands New Vegas plugins limit, allowing a maximum of plugins to be loaded, similar to Skyrim. If you're aimed on heavy-modded game, this will still not "save" you from merging - so you'll have to learn about merging later in the guide anyway. But for small mod lists, this plugin is pretty useful. Hey ho! Let's rock! Reason is very simple - "Vortex" button it's not related with Vortex itself, if you're using NMM or MO, you only need to once choose "remember my choice" to browser when asked with which app you want to open such links and that's it is downloading so called "default" version of the mod which is the first from top in Files section - but this "default" version of the file is not always what you actually need. Always download mod files directly from "Files" section. Thematic Load Screen Pack Replaces generic vanilla loadscreens with about 66 thematic screens. I know you're hungry to get that tasty graphics! We'll start right now :. Choose and install the ENB preset. If you love the original color scheme of NV and want to keep it but also make much better - Rudy ENB is a great choice. If you love the desaturated visuals - try it for sure. Note : don't forget to install "Fix for dark regional weathers" file from Update Files section. On of my 3 favourite ENB presets ever and one I'm currently using now in my own walkthrough. Note : if you want to have a Letterbox "black bars" effect with it, just copy the "effect. It's also fully compatible with all "visions" and has compatibility versions for Realistic Wasteland Lighting, Interior Lighting Overhaul and both of them together. Note : this preset is also very performance-friendly itself, and I additionally made "ultra-performance" version which may help owners of low-end rigs. Onix ENB Really well-made preset with a touch of "photorealism" - bright and sharp look, at golden middle in terms of saturation. Nevada ENB - Edition Pretty similar to previous preset, but still a bit different at the same time, also with a bit more saturated interiors. Exotic ENB A really good mix between cold and warm tones at the same time. Forlorn ENB Pretty original preset - almost without any colors in it at all. This one also will be a good option for owners of low-end rigs. My personal favourite between similar presets. Now, we can go to the main part - improving the look of textures and models themselves. Yes, exactly the Ultra - it's a texture for only 2 objects, so even with best possible textures this won't affect your performance in general, and those Nuca Cola machinces deserve the best! Now, about the mod versions. I'm personally the Dead version - it completely preserves the original look, but it's completely a matter of taste. Fertile version adds more flora with more beautiful trees and plants models, but as can be guessed from it's name, there are more trees and many of those trees are green and more "alive"-looking. Before actually using it in walkthrough, go to some places with noticable amount of trees and mark your fps there, save and exit. Install the Dead version and check fps again with it. The only "disadvantage" this mod has is it's not compatible with the Wasteland Flora Overhaul mod above - so you'll need to choose one or another. The only animated plant you can use from this mod is "Animated Pansy Plant" file. Now, let's go for weapons, armors, creatures and effects: HD Hi-Res World View Weapon Textures A base weapon retexture pack which we'll overwrite with others listed below - it's still needed as it covers some textures not covered by other mods. Weapon Mods Expanded - WMX This mod is actually mostly a gameplay one, bot for proper work with other mods together, we need to install it now. WMX is absolutely essential mod that adds modifications to each and every weapon in the game which was not possible in vanilla and many weapons simply didn't have any modifications at all [including] melee weapons as well. Lastly, grab a WMX patch from optional files here. Install the mod itself first, then overwrite with Compatibility Edition file. EVE - Essential Visual Enhancements A mod from the same author that covers huge amount of various effects - fire, shooting effects, weapons, explosions etc. You can also optionally install laser rifle recolor. Enhanced Blood Textures Amazing mod retexturing all blood visuals. EXE - Effect teXtures Enhanced Badass mod from author of Impact and EVE - all 3 mods from this author are "crossing" in coverage of some textures, and installed in this exact order will give you the best result. Important moment : install "Weapon Retexture Project" version 1. Using the "old" version doesn't mean it's bad - it simply covers a bit less than latest version, [BUT] - the main point here and in exact installation order of mods starting from WMX till this one is simple - one can have either not all mods listed here and so, much lesser coverage, or follow certain installation order and few more simple instructions to have the biggest retexturing coverage and everything compatible. In the end, you'll have the biggest coverage and the best quality. Now, the special instructions nothing hard, don't worry : go to this page and follow the instructions showed on screenshot here just in case. Basically, you need to install 4 separate retexture mods, then delete retex. That's it! Critters Retexture Pack A simple base retexture mod for creatures with attention to details. Hall Of Equipment Base retexture mod for clothing and armors. Now, attention: install this mod also install Lonesome Road file. Also install this little addon. MGs Neat Clutter Retextures A big mod of great quality that's aimed on clutter retextures - meaning various smaller objects in game world. Improved Robots Textures Install all 3 main files. High Res Vanilla Posters and Graffiti If you like Old Vegas more "sinful" look of posters - do NOT overwrite it to have new look of posters, if you didn't like - overwrite to stick to retextures vanilla ones. Matter of taste. Clipboards Retexture. We're done with textures and models! Now lets spice our game with some neat lighting additions. For the first 5 mods listed, choose only ONE of them. Using more then one from those 5 can and will cause random visual issues. For the rest of mods below - you can use any or all of them on top. It almost doesn't changes anything in terms of technical work of weather, but makes lighting itself and vanilla weather more photorealistic and fresh. Really great implementation and no performance impact. Note: If you have "landscape texture in sky" bug looking more or less similar to this this - make sure that 1 the mod files were downloaded fully and correctly without corruption - reDOWNLOAD and reinstall the mod 2 the mod is loaded close to the very end of your load order 3 you're using my ini files for ENB. It's a very rarely happening bug, but it should fix it. Simple, non-intrusive, yet giving a really fresh touch to Mojave weathers, including even rainstorms. To get the mod: download "Oxide ENB 1. In addition, author also offers a qualitative ENB preset tweaked especially for this weather mod - but, you can practically use it with any other ENB preset though by default lighting and brightness level may look not as intended sometimes, so you'll have to tinker with ENB GUI of your preset a bit to reach the plausible result. It still has great variety of weathers. It can affect your fps a bit, but won't affect your game performance or stability in long terms. Mod is hosted on ModDB, not on Nexus, but there's nothing bad in it - don't be afraid of downloading from there. Note 1 : if you'll be using Interior Lighting Overhaul mod - do not use this mod interior plugin. Note 2 : in second archive inside the main mod folder, there's an ENB preset - you don't have to use it, but ofc you can try it : Note 3 : make sure to read the mod's readme and manual text files for better usage of the mod. M0rk's Lighting - Better Wasteland Lighting Simple mod with no performance impact that makes Mojave "tone" more vibrant. May give or not give weird lighting together with ENB presets. Rainy Days Simple and great mod - it adds rainy weather to Mojave. Rainy weather has own chance to appear or you can trigger it anytime via your pip-boy. Also, don't forget to install YUP patch for it. Load after other weather mods if using them. High Noon Restored Restores the intended High Noon imagespace, which means the middle of the day won't have the orange tint, which seems to have actually been unintentional. Lighting and lights in direct meaning: For the first 2 mods listed, choose [one]: Simple Street Lights Really well-made street lights mod compatible with everything as it only activates many from originally-existing lights. Choose only one. I'd recommend version without extra lights. In other case if you want more light, just use Electro-City. Also install this fix for it. It overhauls lighting in each and every interior of the game, making lighting more logical and game in interiors look much more ambient. Vaults, caves, buildings - all this now will fell much more immersive, and places that should have been scary will be such now. Besides that, it fixes tons of vanilla lighting bugs, adds new features like light switches in hotels and safe houses, and covers all DLCs as well. Imprortant note : due to some details, we'll install this mod later, in the end. Don't worry, I'll remind you. Uninstall after testing. If you'll like what you see, install the mod when it will be mentioned again in the guide. Fallout Character Overhaul Amazing overhaul for characters making them look significantly better and still immersive and keeping the original style. It also has great support in terms of compatibility with other mods, having patches for almost every well known mod listed below. Also install this and this fixes for it to eleminate minor glitches here and there. Note - for some reasons, mod installer often installs patch for Russel even if you didn't choose it - just delete it manually if that's the case. Also grab this Brave New World A "successor" of the mod above from the same author. Same as NVR3. The unique feature of the mod is it re-voices over NPCs in the game, using the voiceovers provided by various voice actors who contributed to the mod. This feature is double-sided. At one hand, it's a really great dedication, and the voice acting quality is mostly really good. At the other hand, the purpose will be not clear for most of players - revoicing the iconic characters would be a great idea in case the original voice acting would be really bad, but it's vice versa in case of New Vegas. So, to pick this mod or not is purely a matter of taste. New, high-poly characters models and HD textures will give a look that's not quite possible for other similar mods. All this author mod together cover the next: NCR both named and generic characters , Legion same , Great Khans same , Fiends and other Raiders same , Powder Gangers same , Boomers, Brotherhod and many other neutral named characters. In other words, almost whole game. Some characters may look too different from their original appearance sometimes - but you can easily revent characters look you don't like back to vanilla by deleting these characters records from the mod plugin in FNVEdit. These mods also require new game to be started for proper NPC look. For those who prefer pure vanilla look, but want better quality. Has both standalone and replacer versions. Don't forget to install a fix for it. You may also be interested in retextures for it here and here. Also has a retexture version for Pip-Boy mod - so be attentive and choose only one to install. This means the Stealth Boy is instead worn on the hand as a glove and uses the same effect as the Chinese Stealth Suit. Now, one more fresh and absolutely genius mod! Universal Pip-Boy Customization Revolutionary pip-boy mod that allows a wide customization of your pip-boy. Hide it completely when you don't need it, disable pip-boy glove, make customized skins and even swap between different pip-boy mods straight in game! Besides that, it already supports plenty of popular pip-boy mods and will support more in future. Changes color from subtle green to subtle halogen amber for a warmer, more natural lighting effect. Nuka-Cola Pipboy Limited edition Pipboy for you! Note: Will properly work only with vanilla model of it. Uncut Wasteland Absolutely essential mod that restores huge amount of cut scenery details all over the game world. Note 1 : It's recommended to use the main version which doesn't add NPCs, for better compatibility with many other mods. This is very easy to make by adding custom load order rule for the mod in LOOT, like shown here. Prerelease Restored Similar mod of smaller size that's fully compatible with Uncut Wasteland and all mods in this section. Highly recommended. It greatly improves the overall look of many ingame generic areas that were looking just flat before, adding immersive details like rocks, fallen trees, rubble piles and so on. There's also one more and also standalone, choose one or another version available here. Note: This mod may and most likely will result in some clipping if you have a heavy-modded game, especially with lots of settlement mods - so test your game with it installed first to see if it's fitting your personal setup. New Vegas Roads Reborn A simple yet great mod that's focused on improving the generic look of NV roads adding varios clutter around here and there - small abandoned buildings, burnt trailers, broken rusty cars and so on. Note : for mod proper work, download and install ALL the files in order from oldest to newest. You can also easily merge them. Take into account that mod it's not properly navmeshed, which is not dangerous to your game but can cause minorly weird visual cases from time to time. Mojave Sandy Desert This mod installation is optional. It truly lives for its name - making FNV worldspace to look even less diverse and even more barren. It also gives the same "sandy" look to most of landscapes textures that previously were different. It also removes some of Wasteland trees and flora to achieve that. It's really a matter of taste, but if you ever wanted to give the game even more deserted look - it may be a great choice for you. Note 1 : Install "Main File 2. Note 2 : If using this mod, make sure to use "no esp" version of Wasteland Flora Overhaul. A Wasteland in Bloom This mod installation is optional. A grass mod from talented Vurt, a divine of flora mods. The wasteland is no longer void of plant life. In this, more lush wasteland, you will encounter many new plants and grasses like cacti, agave, yucca, various flowers and grasses. The mod also retextures all the default grasses, the prickly pear cactus and the creosote bush. Read the mod page carefully for installation instructions and ini settings. Groundcover Overhaul This mod installation is optional. New mostly lore friendly groundcovers and plants! Including cacti, agave, thistle, yucca, dead flowers, grasses and shrubs. Default version has hi-res textures but the mod has medium and low-res addons. Mod aims to change many things in the Mojave Wasteland. Things such as landscape, armors, flora, signs, and things alike. Patrolling the Mojave almost makes You can see my showcase here. Good job! We are done with the first part of U. Now, the gameplay part [OR] you can skip it and go to straight to MODULES section if you don't want to go through the whole list or don't have time - it offers various pre-made mod lists for any taste, carefully compiled by me personally. Note: If you you want fully balanced version of the mod, choose custom installation in installer and do not tick the Outcast and Nemesis options - the armor sets themsevels are amazing same as all others, but, these options will place new armor sets in the Mojave - they have almost top-tier close to Elite Riot Gear defence values, and you can get them pretty early in the game, which may ruin the difficulty balance. Courier Ranger Armor - Customisable In Game Absolutely fantastic and original armor mod which main feature is incredible customization possibilities - read mod page, browse images and you'll understand. PN patch available. Note: After the installation, keep only ONE plugin per your choice, and delete 2 others. Armors are based on T, T, Enclave, and Tesla armor. It's standalone and has the same stats as Joshua's armor. Shogo Heavy Industries Adds a new vendor with advanced weapons and armor based on Japanese design. The company is called Shogo Heavy Industries and they produced experimental weapons and armor for the Japanese government before the Great War. Grab this fix. Project Nevada patch available. Leather backpack With some extended functionality. Note: Included in Project Nevada equipment module. Advanced Recon Stealth Armor Hi tech hybrid stealth armor. See them before they see you. Mojave Express Courier Uniforms Basic uniform and a two upgrades. Secret Agent Retro Secret Agent Retro is designed for role playing emphasizing skills and very light armor, and provides five character templates inspired by '60s television serials with special abilities and equipment which will be available during character creation. Ingegrated into leveled lists meaning enemies can use the new weapons, you can find them in containers, but from traders and so on. All of them can be easily merge together into one weapons-related. It has 2 version - for vanilla animations and for Asurah Reanimation Pack, use only one. Tesla Weapons Pack My favourite energy weapons pack. Make super-sure to install a bugfixing patch for it! Photon Laser Weapon Pack Badass laser weapons from the same author. Asurah S. Ruger SR Also try various retexture files for it. I'm personally using "4Echo Alternate Textures". Tactical Laser Rifle Super-useful mod for those who wanna focus on energy weapons but be able to snipe. Remington Make sure to check out author's profile for more badass weapons! A gun sure to put the Hun on the Run! MD1 Molecular Disruptor - The Little Doctor A multi-purpose, powerful energy rifle that alters itself in various ways with different ammo types, complete with a quest to obtain and immerse it. Optional Fallout New California support. NV Experimental Dual Minigun Turret This mods adds two portable experimental dual minigun turret with its own animations. Explosive Mini-Turret This mod adds a schematics for two new weapons: a mini-turret that can be thrown as a grenade and a mini turret that can be placed as a mine. Arsenal Weapon Overhaul - Light Machine Gun Replaces the Light Machine Gun with new models and textures from Insurgency Sandstorm and comes with three attachments, extended magazine, scope and synthetic furniture. Chinese Assault Rifle Adds a fully moddable Chinese Assault rifle to the game with full leveled lists integration. Cowboy and Western Outfit pack Adds a plethora of western-themed outfit for males. Weapons of The Heroes Mod adds numerous unique firearms, zappy-guns and melee with the vanilla look and feel in mind. Rotary Grenade Launcher A semi-automatic 40mm grenade launcher. Inf Files section of the fix page, you can also find Project Nevada patch. Tammer's Standalone Weapons Mega-Pack You may also want to browse same author's profile for standalone mods if you don't want them all. Also install WRP patch for it. Gun runners arsenal Expanded Camon and Scottmack Weapons - Compatibility Edition Note : read mod page carefully - you'll need to install few other weapon mods, linked on the mod page and then disable their. Balanced and lore-friendly. Unveil the new masterpiece coming directly from the Gun Runner's factory, if you can. Mid-poly mesh, multiple 4K, 2K, 1K textures, two custom quests, custom sounds, custom UI Icons, fully scripted game integration. Locatin - look at mod page and screenshots. Star Trek Assault Phaser Get ready to 'waporise'! This mod adds the Assault Phaser, as seen in Star Trek 5 and 6, to your game for much pew pew fun. Stabby stabby A powerful not way overpowered Bowie knife. Let's fix and upgrade everything related to weapon animations. There are a few choices for that - use [only one]: Weapon Animation Replacer This mod can be considered a "vanilla weapon animations plus". It fixes bugs in vanilla animations and slightly improves them here and there. If you want the vanilla animations without glitches - this mod is an option for you. Note : when installing and asking about overwriting, overwrite everything besides Weapons of New Millenia mod. While it's no longer updated, it's absolutely functional an great. Animations are beautiful and super-smooth. The main advantage of Asurah mod over any other similar mods is the exactly how smooth the animations are. This is done by huge amount of efforts put into each animations. How to explain that in simple? Each animation is a complex movement that consists of several smaller movements, an iterations. And if vanilla animations have let's say X amoutn of those iterations per animation, Asurah mods has like 3X of them - and that's animations are looking that good. The downside is that as all animation mods released before kNVSE which was released in , this mod directly replaces vanilla animations, so it needs compatibility patches for other weapon-related mods, and has couple of inconsistencies solutions for which are listed here though. If you're not sure if you want to spend some time installing it properly and adjusting the mentioned inconsistencies, you may want to look on one more alternative below which uses kNVSE - but, most certainly, it still provides the best animation quality compared to every other animation mod existing on the stage. Installation instructions: - Install "Asurah Reanimation Pack 0. Overwrite everything if asked. Note: If you want to try a mix between old and new animations, you can install the "Asurah Reanimation Pack main" first and then overwrite it with the newest main file, but take into account this is up to you as more compatibility questions may emerge in this case. Overwrite when asked - Then, install all files from Update files section. Install patches for separate Millenia weapons mods only if you have those mods ofc. Unpack it. Now, here's the way of properly installing it: It's quite easy! Sadly, files structure in the patch folder on the mod page is quite a mess without any instructions - but we can make a proper mix we need. So, the steps: - Download the patch archive, unpack it. You'll see many. In other window, you'll be taking files needed from other folders. Windows will ask about overwriting - confirm. Now jsut select both folder and. Animated or not Cigarettes Smoke cigarettes with or without animations but always with style! Works with most Pip-Boy mods. New California is hard even to call a "mod", in general. It has a size of a complete game and it's done on amazingly high level of everything - from wordlspace design to character voices and narration. Basically, an independent game itself. You can also watch my complete review of it, as well as 4k scenery showcase. New California is an unofficial but lore-friendly prequel to New Vegas and I'm strongly recommendeding to play it. You will be stunned, shocked in a good meaning and absolutely amazed. Installation : simple af. Download the file, unpack it. Run the. Current mod version has a "bridge" to NV worldspace, but my personal recommendation is just to play it, and then start new NV walkthrough itself, because if you'll appear in NV worldspace after NC, you'll be already very strong and NV itself will have close to no challenge for you. Note 2 : in "recommended mods" list, you already have all the mods besides only Project Nevada and Robco Certified. Note 3 : make sure to read the list of incompatible mods. It's not big, but still, read it. Note 4 : New California is such a huge mod that it has dozens of other mods made [for it] by various authors. All those mods are not obligatory to have - but many of them are really good additions to already amazing NC itself. List of such mods is available as a standalone "New Californication" module, in modules section of U. It also contains my personal recommendations of mods NV mods that are playing great together with New California. Once again, it's recommended to play NC before NV walkthrough, and to either play it without any mods besides "recommended" at NC page, or only with mods from "New Californication" module, and after you finish NC, change your mod list for an actual NV walkthrough. Autumn Leaves Absolutely incredible, DLC-sized quest mod with multiple endings, nonlinear walkthrough, over of fully-voiced dialogue lines and generally amazing mood, inspired by classic RPGs like Planscape Torment and Arcanum, and of course, new items and plenty of new unique perks as rewards. Also, if you'll experience rare bug when James won't appear in the last part of main quest, look here for a solution. Now, a series of quest mods from one talented authors. All his mods have a real charm and in total, will give you many dozens of hours of walkthrough. The Someguy Series This mod does nothing on its own, but it's a [required core] for all other Someguys's mods. Install it. Now, the mods themselves: New Vegas Bounties I New Vegas Bounties II New Vegas Bounties III Almost iconic series of "bounty hunting" mods with dozens of various quests where you need to track outlaws - everything with own backstories, challenging fights, humoristic moments and new worldspaces. The Inheritance Fully-voiced, lore-friendly storyline from the same author. New Vegas Killer Ever wanted to work as an assassin for hire? Think no more. Lastly - check out other mods in Someguy's profile - you may find some more mods that will fir your taste a lot. Deimos A fully-voiced mysterious quest from author of award-winning "Falskaar" mod for Skyrim. Beyond Boulder Dome A complete new land with own creatures, spirit and quests, giving really great presence feeling. Also grab this fix. Tales from the Burning Sands Complete A story-driven quest mod, deeply based on narration, storyline and puzzles. Project Nevada patch is also available. Zion Trail An adventure in a completely new big worldspace, lore-wise and with a great level design. Quests, encounters and more - everything is voiced. Afterschool Special Small and great mod from the same author. Take into account that it may be or not be compatible with Goodspings overhaul mods. A couple of fixes available. The Rockwell Pursuit You can also play this mod prequel , but that's on your own choice - it's pretty bugged. Pursuit is a great one, stable and voiced. My personal recommendation to play. New Vegas Stories Amazing collection of 5 different quests touching different factions - in places where game lacked some content. Greatly written and choice-driven. Highly recommend. NPCs from both mods spawn in same places sometimes - but nothing game-breaking. Mysterious House Headhunting A mod with self-explanatory name. More bounty-hunting sidequests, if you still need some. Some moments in it may be not really lore-friendly, or better to say, obviously "inspired" by other titles, but the encounters are well done. If you was a big fan of New Vegas Bounties series, try this mod for sure. Dreams Of Sulphur and Poetry This mod adds an unorthodox adventure filled with interesting visuals and some alternative gameplay. It consists of three quests, all followed by one another. It adds four new weapons, several outfits and craftable beverages and three possible player homes. Note: Some players were reporting crash in the same place while playing this mod, while some others not. I've tested the mod and this cell myself - no crash happened. So try yourself and see - most likely, crash was reported by people on weak rigs and with not proberly set up stability aspect of the game. The Unholy Lands Adds a detailed, grim, atmospheric new world to explore with dungeons, voiced characters and more. Of Truth and Lies Become an official gunslinger and wield new weapons and armours in this new quest mod. This mod fixes that. Ultimate Lairs Sever new pretty hard dungeons dungeons to battle your way through, each with their own distinct look and atmosphere. Operation Virgo A series of quest mods size varies, from tiny to bigger ones with great narration, fully voiced and often connected to each other. Morgan Town Mod A whole new lore to semi-lore friendly town for you to explore, with settlers and almost lines of voiced dialogues. Five Aces Stop by Freeside's dedicated Merc shop where you can stock up on supplies and find work. The Initiation The Initiation is a fully-voiced quest-chain centered on the idea of doing odd jobs for the Great Khans. Do well enough, and they might let you join up Z Crystal Observation Facility Adds a new location to the Big Mt complete with detailed interiors and a new unique weapon. Note : if you'll be using SGO look below in General Gameplay Changes section below , this mod is not needed Improved Traits Small balancing mod for some vanilla traits and 2 new ones. Perk Rework Balancing mod that rewords some of useless or underpowered perks. Note : while having correct archive structure, mod for some reasons doesn't have mod manager installation button, so just download it manually, add to your mod manager and install as usual. Note : if you'll be using SGO look below in General Gameplay Changes section below , this mod is not needed Lessons Learned Overhaul Absolutely original, unique and lore-wise overhaul of one of the most useless perks in the game. A must have mod, as for me. Baddarkl Perk Overhaul A complete overhaul of many others poor vanilla perks as well as some new really cool perks and traits. Also adds new trait for absolute hardcore lovers. This mod is from previous mod author and it includes Lessons Learned Overhaul as well as his other minimods, so if you'll decide to go with this one, you don't need previous mod or any other his separate mods. Also don't forget to grab Project Nevada patch if you'll be using it. Note : if you'll be using SGO look below in General Gameplay Changes section below , this mod is not needed Pacifist Perks Immersive and non-immersive at the same time, but very original mod. A Trait Mod One more simple but neattraits mod - 6 new trais available at character creation. On practice, not much for a complete walkthrough but still, really fun. Automatic Artisan - Shotgun Surgeon for machine guns Adds a perk that grants you the ability to ignore 8 points of an enemy's damage threshold when using automatic weapons. Note: If you're using SGO, this mod is not needed as it has own similar perk featured. Holdout Heister Similar simple perk for holdout weapons. Same as with the mod above, not needed if you have SGO. Karmic Balance - Karma Consequences Really immersive karma mod that adds pleasant, but balanced bonuses and karma consequences system. Note : if you'll be using SGO look below in General Gameplay Changes section below , this mod is not needed Karma Perks This one is a similar mod that adds even more karma bonuses, but without immersive consequences as in previous mod. Bonuses or second and third perks can be a bit too strong, as for me, but that you can always adjust in FNVEdit. Note : use either this or previous mod - not both. It also disables Karma gained from killing bad guys - in vanilla game it was riduculous value for Evil character while Very Evil was giving you 2, so most logically Evil should give 1. You will still have small, but pleasant karma rewards for killing bad guys. Note: YUP does the very same fix, but sets Karma reward to 5 - this mod is for more hardcore lovers or just for people with a huge mod lists with greatly increased population. Note : if you'll be using SGO look below in General Gameplay Changes section below , this mod is not needed Beyonds Tweaks Take Powderganger Stuff No Karma Loss Removes illogical "steal" karma penalty for stealing from powdergangers, a ver logical and needed mod as well. Steal - less Karma lost Losing 1 karma instead of 5 when stealing - I'd also recommend to set this to 2 in FNVEdit though, for a better "golden middle". Note : if you'll be using SGO look below in General Gameplay Changes section below , this mod is not needed Calculate Karma Simple as that - see your Karma numerically in immersive way without need to use a console. Requires new game to work properly. Cannibalism - no negative karma This particular mod makes no sense for me personally - it's very logically to gain negative karma for eating people, but still, maybe someone will find it useful. First of all, let me present you three most all-embracing, well-made and just great "major" overhauls to NV gameplay. It not only balances most of main gameplay aspects, but also add new gameplay features, while keeping them immersive and those features are mostly just for your game comfort. It's core new and immersive features are: super-cool "bullet time" mode slowing time while consuming AP, a great alternative to silly VATS system , dynamic crosshair for more realistic shooting, sprint, hotkey for grenades, immersive first-person overlays for visors and helmets, enhanced stealth field and special visions, immersive pripary needs for hardcore mode, chargeable energy weapons and few more. Besides that, PN offers really well-made core rebalance of the game - attributes, damage, stealth and combat options. Lastly, it adds really cool implants features, some new perks, and a lot of new, lore-friendly armors and weapons carefully distributed into leveled lists. The only downside of PN is that it was made really long ago, when certain script foundations like JIP LN didn't yet exist - thus, it's pretty heavy script-load-wise - always test your mod setup for a few hours to see game is working fine if you have a somewhat heavy modded setup. With this in mind, there's an alternative approach - in the last 2 years, various mod authors released many we can even say most of main PN features as a separate standalone mods, using more optimized scripting. Look as the list of the mods below PN part here and see if maybe you can be satisfied with a combination of those instead of using PN as whole. Note 2 : If using the mod as whole with all options ticked on during installation , install the addons from the mod pages below: Project Nevada Patches Grab EVE and WMX patches and install them if you're using respective mods ofc. Project Nevada - Extra Options This addon installation is optional, but recommended. Adds some more new features to PN, balances some parameters in it and fixes minor bugs, polishing the mod greatly. In installer choose all recommended options. Note: Even with this addon, there's a bug that sometimes happens when using Med-X - if you become addicted to it, withdrawal effects appear instantly which is wrong , and you also may have "Ignore Crippled Limbs" effect stuck forever with you which is ofc cool and everything, but still a bug and kinda immersion ruining - to fix this, use this tiny mod. Chargeable Tesla Cannon This tiny mod fixes not even a "bug", but likely and "overlook" in the mod - but it's a great addition! Cyberware Standalone Cyberware from Project Nevada. Quick Grenade Hotkey Simple grenade hotkey mod. Run it, load the healing mod. Find "aaForceHealDebug" script and open it. Inside this part of script, you'll see the next part: pltarget. Now, paste this instead of it: pltarget. Stamina Incredibly underrated mod. You'll get tired while doing normal actions, like run, sprint if PN is installed, instead than using APs , swimming, grabbing items, wearing heavy armors or heavy weapons, shooting because of recoil etc. Unfound Loot Standalone mod for "Unfound Loot" features - i. Highly recommended for hardcore walkthroughs and to keep economics balanced. Moreover, your journey may be interrupted somewhere en route by a random encounter with enemies. It has some glitches here and there and may be not realistic, depending on your own view, but it's definitely a neat one and may interest many players. Dead Money Overhaul Overhauls Dead Money to be a more enjoyable experience without sacrificing the core gameplay elements, and allows you to return to the Sierra Madre after completing the DLC. Burrowing Creatures Little, but absolutely amazing mod that adds a new layer of immersion to the game - Fallout 4 burrowing functionality to NV creatures such as Radscorpions, Bark Scorpions, Mole Rats, and Cazadores. This comes complete with an MCM to toggle parts of the mod you do and don't want. Simply Uncut - New Vegas A new, really massive cut content restoration mod with simply dozens of things put back into the game. Home On The Wastes Aims to add cowboys that herd packs of mole rats, brahmin, and Bighorners from settlement to settlement. Also adds cowboy camps throughout the Wasteland. Are you sick of the screen simply fading to black? Assuming it even works? And what's even the point? Well here you go. Text boxes, gameplay effects, and patches for many mods included. Poisonous Poisons Complete overhaul of how poisons work in the game. Should be now much more dangerous and force you to always carry antivenoms and antidotes if you don't want to perish to them. Gives more enemies the ability to poison you, restrictions to weapon poisoning, and a new perk for you to silently poison anyone. Drains action points based on armor class none, light, medium, heavy , and will increase dehydration in hardcore mode this is unfortunately not configurable. Aim View Switcher Essential mod for 3rd person lovers - when you're aiming, it automatically goes to 1st person, but as soon you end aiming, it's getting you back in 3rd person Med-Tek Trauma Kit A medical mod for healing crippled and injured limbs and body parts in more hardcore way. Optional tweaks available. Super Mutant Overhaulord Logical bump to all super mutants in the game, very recommended. It conflicts with Vicious Wastes a bit, but that's easily fixable in FNVedit in favor or one of the mods. Melee Reach Fixed Why the pipe had twice longer reach that two-handed baseball bat or greatsword? No sense. This mod is fixing all those ridiclous weapon reach values and balances others. Use scripted version. Will be especially effective in Hardcore mode. Mod currently has minor bug that thrown weapons also become degraded, but works just great besides that. No second chances fixed A mod to make even the saves system more hardcore. Use a motorcycle to get around the Wasteland! Mojave Train Travel Redux This mod overhauls the entire Mojave wasteland railroad tracks, it adds a new immersive Fast travel, aka the trains. Works on the player, followers, and all NPCs. A Crime Against Nature Absolutely brilliant new mod whic converts cannibalism into a skill which must be mastered, and which can be taught to one's companions, gives new visual effects and more! Cannibal Reborn One more cannibalism overhaul with immersive gore effects - and playing a great synergy with the mod above. Big Guns Skill Complementary mod for the previous one. It's enabling back the functionality of the Big Guns skill, and implements it into the gameworld in as a complete fashion as I can figure out for the time being. Armor stat changes Changes the stats of some vanilla and DLC armors - making some nice-looking yet previously useless armors more protecting, and nerfing few others. Spoils to the Victor Interior Ownership Gives Courier the logical ownership of interiors when the local faction is gone i. Cowboy melee req reduced Reduces the melee requirement for the cowboy perk from 45 to Tesla Cannon Chaining Upgrades the Tesla Cannon so that it can now actually CHAIN between targets, as it was suggested from the game files but which doesn't actually happen the way it would have been intended in Broken Steel. The Tesla Beaton Prototype is turned into a continuous beam attack weapon, as I imagined from its name. Dead Money Survival Rebalanced A simple yet making sense little overhaul to make Dead Money DLC not only a harsh combat experience, but a harsh survival experience, as you run around strung out on chems, unable to sleep without being poisoned to death by the cloud. A true insomniacs nightmare. On-Fire Damage Reworked If still feel that burning damage is underpowered - get this mod. FPS Throwable Lobbers The mod adds the feature of pushing live projectiles lobbers from the ground away from the player, like in modern fps games. Just Mods Assorted Collection of many neat little mods merged into a single one and with customization menu available. This mod is not needed for those who are using Project Nevada and Solid Project, but if you don't use them, this mod will be incredibly useful and almost essential. Jamming Fix and Optional Tweaks Fixes the on-fire jamming for automatic weapons and adds option for how often weapons jam via ini file. Most of changes don't make much sense in New Vegas, but some player may find them interesting though. And Stay Back Improved The fewer projectiles shot from your shotgun, the higher the knockdown chance per projectile hit. Most food items are actual products from the 50's which brings a more realistic feel to the game. A patch for these new foods to [not] heal is available. Doctors Heal Companions Doctors heal companions and ignore robots for 50 caps a person. Hand Loader - Vigilant Recycler Allows creation of a plethora of new ammo types, and even allows the crafting of ammo types in-game that were previously uncraftable. No Stealing After Repair Fix the stealing exploit after vendor repair. Helmet Overlay Adds helmet overlays similar to those found in various S. Significantly Cheaper Vendor Repairs Never again will you have to fork over a thousand caps to do a simple repair of your rifle. Courier's Stash pre-order items Scattered All pre-order pack items are removed from your inventory and scattered to different locations. Create books, notes, scrolls, posters etc. Loot Unconscious Victims Lets you open the inventory of any equipment-carrying enemy who has been knocked down, knocked out or paralyzed. Also lets cannibals get an early start on their victims. Asterra's Lore-Friendly Challenges Adds several challenges aimed at exhausting what the game has to offer. Coins A mod that adds quarters and dimes to the Mojave. It does not replace bottlecaps. Mojave Emperor Scorpions. Cloaked Scorpions Two new radscorpion types from the same authors, to make your exploration more interesting and unexpectable. Lucky 38 one is also compatible with mods that change Presidential Suite player home itself. Compatible and plays well together with previous mods. Adds a load of static buildings to make New Vegas feel like an urban center and make it appear more similar to the concept art, without hurting your FPS much. Medical Clinic Expanded Can be used in pair with next mod for better results. Just add the archive to your mod manager and install as usual. Goodsprings Reborn Beautiful mod but with great balance - nothing lore-unfriendly or too much added. Note: Use the version 3. Non-intrusive and great. Novac Reborn Make sure to choose version you need depending on some other mods you have. Keep in mind it's incompatible with Willow companion mod you can delete the conflicting cell record in this mod. The only thing it has as flaw are some dirty records so just clean it with FNVEdit. FreeSide Review Classic This project turns FreeSide into a real city with more people and signs of a society reconstruction, different from the original thats boring and unfinished. You can also use the lite version if you'll see your PC is sweating performance-wise. You can also use the lite version instead. Can be used together with the mod above. New robots, photos, signs, posters and structures. Nipton Rebuilt Absolutely great mod that allows you to actually rebuild the town. Also install flags pack addon for it. In a heavy-modded setup, it will, though, almost surely conflict with some other of your mods here and there, but most of conflicts can be easily got rid of by deleting respective CELL records - you can watch a simple tutorial with an examples of how to do this here example is being given with Skyrim mods plugins, but the process is all the same. The only to me downside is what's pretty much often preset in many similar mods - too much of a free money and other items free to loot in the upgraded cells which you easily can tone down using FNVEdit though. Moves stuff around, adds clothes to his dresser, adds a workbench and reloading bench and replaces weapons found in his house etc. This mod adds that extra squad. Note: Currently, mod it not compatible with Less Empty Primm. Windows of the Mojave Fresh and amazing mod! Devil in details in its finest. Ever noticed how some buildings in the game have no windows even though on the outside they're covered in windows? Like what kind of presidential suite doesn't have windows? Well, this mod tries to fix that by adding windows into those interiors. NV Novac Apartment One of the most beautiful and cozy overhauls for vanilla players homes and my personal fav mod for Novac apartment. Note : load this mod after Unofficial Patch Plus. Cloverpass Probably not much realistic, but really original mod. Adds a waste treehouse north of Molerat Ranch. Aegis Oil - Oil Rig An offshore player home in the form of a pre war oil rig. It has storage facilities, adds three new weapons and one outfit, a power armor training pod, an elaborated alcohol menu and more. Includes lots of lovingly-crafted details and a backstory. Goodsprings Shack - Replaces Victor's Mod completely changes the inside of Victor's Shack turning it into a lovely little starting player home - without giving you too much. Contains a bed, radio, plenty of storage and lots of homely decoration. Wastelander's House Simple player home with storage and workbenches. Primm Overlook Small, rustic player home near Primm. Hotkey can be changed in MCM. Enjoy the 55 new tracks sustained greatly in style of original game radio - feels like a native part of the game, but adds so much variety and awesomeness! Platinum Radio My personal favourite and very underrated radio mod - it's different but still in the same syle, adding a lot to original radio songs variety. Installation note : first, install the "Platinum Radio Ver. Note : it also adds a small cell and new NPCs with certain interactions in Freeside and Strip, so check these cities on separate save if you have overhauls for them before using this mod in actual walkthrough. Enclave Radio Remastered A new dose of patriotism for your Wasteland! Lore-friendly ads. Easter eggs. New little and a custom texture and sound weapon as a pleasant bonus. Cool blues, swinging jazz and a risque ditty or two. Papa Joc's Radio New radio station with over 40 new songs and custom dialogue lines. Milwaukee Mojave Radio Simple mod adding a radio station that plays the soundtrack of an obscure game. Tune into Milwaukee Mojave anywhere in the wasteland. Select your own personal playlist in MCM with as many or as few songs as you want and enjoy listening to the music. No Repeating Songs in Mysterious Broadcast The Mysterious Broadcast radio station plays songs randomly, which can result in the same song playing several times in a row. This mod adds a small script that checks the last 3 previously played songs so that the songs don't repeat so soon. You'll be able to hear if sounds are in front, behind, above, or below you in a full degrees. Higher Female Protagonist Voice Several flavors of higher-pitched replacements for the vanilla female voice. Companions themselves: Willow - A Better Companion Experience The most and deservedly known follower mod for NV with more than voiced dialogue lines. Willow reacts on events, surroundings and just always have something to say. Also install this little improvement patch for her. Note : if you're using FCO as well, re-install it so you can choose patch for Russel it's a general advice for this section as FCO installer has patches for some popular follower mods as well, such as Russel, Deliah, Niner etc. It allows you to build your own robots army and will greatly add to your gameplay diversity as well as roleplay capabilities. One more optional addon is available. Delilah- Mojave MD Over voiced lines, own storyline, new quests and much more other useful scripted gameplay features in this original follower mod. You can also isntall an optional but actually great, I'm personally using it alternative voice acting pack for her. Niner "Sociopathic junkie friend simulator". Nothing possible can describe this companion better. Mod has several minor bugs, but they are not game-breaking. Eliza A new companion for you to go on adventures with, a bunch of new quests and characters, a new town, and as always, at least one snazzy hat. All fully-voiced and really seamless. A visual overhaul of Eliza is also available. Tammer's Customizable Companion - Jessica Custom female companion - fully voiced, can be leveled up and customized by the player. Milton and Hans A business radroach companion mod. Yeah, you heard it right. DUST Survival Simulator This mod is a huge and great, made by author of popular FROST mod for Fallout 4, a "whole game" overhaul, from combat and economy to hardcore survival and combat aspects and sort of survival horror atmosphere, but has plenty of glitches. Has many "matter of taste" features aimed on realism. DUST changes game drastically - gives own story and disables most of vanilla questlines, changes perk system and ocmbat completely, changes game world and so on - you'll be not actually playing and not playing New Vegas at the same time. It's a great mod, just be sure that game world will be changed according to author's taste, so choose yourself - it's about either ths setting fits your wishes for gameplay. AWN takes inspiration from classic Fallout games and some from Stalker series, and same as previous one, it's aimed on much more challenging gameplay and harsh survival. It almost tripples the amount of perks and traits in game and chances each and every gameplay mechanics in own way. It also has some bugs, which is nothing surprising knowing it's size and fact it was done by a single person. It was reported for crashing game as well, but not that often as DUST does. From these three huge overhauls, After War Nevada is my favourite one as it doesn't change game world itself and it's still much better compatibility-wise, so if you're hungry to try "all-in-one" overhaul, my advice is to try AWN first Fallout Days Of Chaos Third "whole game" overhaul which is pretty original as that transforms Mojave into some sort of horror survival simulator. This mod has less crashes reports compared to previous two overhauls. Though, some changes, especially visual ones, are [really] subjectively-made. But who knows, maybe you'll like them? Also take into account this Days Of Chaos completely removes main quest from the game and massively changes factions and many quests. Hotkey itself can be configured in. Configurable in ini file. Tutorial Killer Mod name is a bit misleading - it doesn't skip tutorial, but "kills" all that annoying messages that are attacking you first few minutes of the game. It removes preorder messages! Includes several of the optional save conditions from the Fallout 3 version of the mod. Adds configurable keys to the game that enable the player to cycle through and use their hotkeys. Using the default hotkey interface, which is normally accessed by holding down a hotkey, the player can quickly move through there hotkeys, and select the item they would like to use. This mod is ofc sort of "cheating" one - so use it fairly ; But it can be extremely useful for testing purposes. Quick Search Seach any item by its name or part of its name in your inventory. For real! Adds a customizable mini-map to the HUD display. Also highly configurable in MCM. You can change all values in ini file. Allows to change light radius as well. Convenient Fast Travel Markers A vice versa case of "realism" mod, but may be very useful for people who actually love fast travel and want to improve it. This mod adds numerous map markers to various parts of the Mojave Wasteland, with the intention of reducing the amount of walking required to get to certain locations. The inspiration for it, as per author, was playing hundreds of hours of New Vegas and getting really bored of always having to walk up The Fort just to talk to Caesar. Improved Transportalponder - Old World Blues Makes the Transportalponder remember your last location in the Mojave Wasteland, gives it a teleport visual, and allows it to teleport companions with you. Drag Things to other cells Simply drag things to another cells. Now you can. Toggle Aim Aim down sights with the press of a button, rather than holding it. Note : this feature is already implemented in Project Nevada, needed only for those who aren't using it. Also install the improvement patch. Share your designs with others! Faster Terminals Speeds up terminal type rate. No more waiting for login and text display. Faster Player Death Reload Time Decreases the time it takes for the game to automatically load your last save when you die from 5 seconds to just 2. Show Pickpocket Success Rate Adds a note at the bottom of the pickpocket menu indicating the pickpocket success rate for the highlighted item. Inspector Small in-game tool to retrieve few useful informations about the objects that surround you, useful both for modded game testing and making mods. Install the update file as well. You can try OneTweak instead. Hide Immersion-Breaking Items Lets you store and retrieve the immersion-breaking clutter added to the inventory by various mods as their interfaces. Grand Tour of the Mojave Not actually a mod, but a beautiful pictorial tour of the Mojave done in screenshots and photos - comparisons between ingame places and them in real world. Various tiny mods - these can tehcnically belong to any of categories above, but are usually really tiny or matter of taste ones, so grouped here. Buy or Steal Buy the items that are on display in any shops across the wasteland and includes an optional module that does not let you grab items that are not owned by you. Swimming and Rebreather Restoration Restores the swimming sounds and the unused rebreather sound. Any glasses with any mask Now you can wear any glasses with any mask. Genius, isn't it? Worn Backpack A small mod that adds a new backpack to the game with custom model and texture. If you want more carry weight bonus and don't want to download additional plugins, you can easily modify bonus via FNVEdit in Object Effect section, Magnitude value. Motion Sickness Destroyer This simple mod removes all motion blur, double vision, and other nasty nauseous effects. Witcher Style Dual Rifle Back Holsters Adds a dual rifle holster set similar to Geralt's back scabbards from the Witcher games , one for your currently equipped rifle and the other which has a static rifle so it makes it look like you always have a rifle on your back even when you pull out a sidearm. Cowboy Holsters Add new holsters for rifles and revolvers. Empty or Not Empty Tiny realism mod. Prevents the player from "magically" knowing if a container or a corpse is empty or not before having checked it. Empty Bottles This mod adds empties for items that are consumables. Realtime Player Death Makes player's death realtime without any slowmotion. Plays greatly in team with the next mod. More Frequent Merchant Restock Makes merchant restocking slightly more frequent - from 2 days per week up to 3. Not Anymore! Also optionally re-enables the random announcements from the Think Tank and Doctor Mobius if they are not all dead. They turn on at and turn off at Boulder City Super Showdown Mod makes some small but effective changes to make the Boulder City Showdown quest a bit more like an actual showdown. Beyond The Beef Tweaks A few small changes to the Beyond The Beef quest aimed at improving options and making the conclusion more fulfilling. This eliminates New Vegas's only random factor in handcrafting a character build. Dusty distance Makes the in-game fog start closer to the PC. Working Vending Machines Vending machines now actually sell drinks. The Truth Is Purely for roleplaying purpose. For an absolute perfectionists. Goodsprings Source wells is untouched Chemistry Set Cooldown Adds a 3-day cooldown to use chemistry sets. You can get all of them separately. Have you ever wondered what skill books are about? Now you can take a look at their contents from the comfort of your Pip-Boy! NV Monorail Project This mod adds a functional monorail that travels between the Strip and the Freeside north entrance. You can travel on it or just watch it passing by. Rex Brain Swap and Overhaul Have Dr Henry or Calamity swap between different dog brains for Rex, and improvements to their different effects on your good ol' mecha-doggy. Prevents their regular effects from triggering unless you have ammo available for them, and upgrades these effects to be a bit more devastating. Detonator Overhaul Selectively detonate your C-4 charges by aiming your Detonator, and make other explosive weapons able to be remotely detonated. Then pick up this mod! I know it's cruel. Not using this one personally. But well, everyone on their own. Caravan Card Control Check out whether you already have a card before buying it. Mojave Outpost now you can unlock gate Allows you to open the gate on Mojave Outpost with lockpick skill Extended Dialogue - Vulpes Inculta Corrects a few dialogue mistakes and re-incorporates missing dialogue to Vulpes Inculta when meeting him in Nipton. Game designers left this out so everything is fully voiced. Hotkeyed Weapon Scrolling This mod does exactly what it says on the tin; adds the option of scrolling through your hotkeys using your mouse scroll wheel. This mod is lightweight, simple, quick, and effective, a single script does the entirety of the work. Improved version of the original mod. Can now also display the weapons attached mods. Also a Pip-Boy Glove Remover. Legendary Difficulty Modifies the "Very Hard" difficulty so that it matches the settings for Skyrim's "Legendary" difficulty. Deathclaws Dismember When Deathclaws kill something, it now causes the target to decapitate a lot of the time. This enables players who dump Charisma to 1 to hear Doc Mitchell comment on something other than their awful Charisma. Mojave Express Storage Reworks Mojave Express dropboxes in to a universal storage system with additional mechanics. Both weapons have also been added to the Shotgun Surgeon perk and, as a consequence, the And Stay Back perk if the player has Dead Money. Eddie Hears An Explosion This mod attempts to fix one of the clunkier moments in the game that had mistimed sound related to NPC action during the quest. Test it and decide if you need it or no. The issue it fixes is still only a cosmetic one though. Covers all DLCs. This will help. New Vegas Bush Fix Fixes a subtle vanilla bug that plays bush rustling sounds when it shouldn't. Enslaving Arcade fix Makes it so you can give Arcade to Caesar if you miss the first chance. Useful mod for "bad guy" walkthrough. Legion AI-Combat bark fix Makes all legionaries use the same speed as each other that were not already set, does not affect legion NPCs with their own speedoffset for story elements. Nightkin Scripts Corrected Nightkins' scripts corrected. Sometimes their spell won't trigger at all. That's a fix. Read mod page and decide which version of mod you need. The Professional Fix Now perk will work as intended - even with custom created weapons. Flechette Muzzle Flash Fix Gives the 12 gauge flechette ammo from Gun Runner's Arsenal the same muzzle flash as every other 12 gauge ammo. Dead Money Stealth Fix A fix for Dead Money to make sneak more feasible by changing the ghost people's perception, available in 3 variations. Note: After installation, keep only one plugin "Easy" one is recommended for intended effect of vanilla game. Also, if you're using SGO, this mod is not needed. Primm Trooper Approaches You Makes the trooper guarding Primm get a little closer when approaching you. The Atomic Wrangler's room become player's property after finishing the quest. Bedroll kit is no longer an ingestible item, it will become an inedible item "Misc" category. After loading your last save, the "ingurgitable" item will be removed from your inventory and replaced with the "miscellaneous" item. EMP effects against robots "de-nerfed". This simple texture fixes that. No more collision or looting issues, they will stay put. If you don't have AWOP, skip this step. If you don't want it, skip this step. Now, finally, run the ILO installer and choose compatibility patches for all mods you have from the list offered. Consistent Pip-Boy Icons Amazing mod that retextures billions of icons, and also has support for more than 50 popular mods. During installation, be careful and choose options for mods support only if you have these mods. Carefully look through all patches and install ones you need. Note : these patches are fixing minor conflicts and none of them are essential, so you'll be absolutely fine without them and it will take some time browsing them to pick which you need, but it's worth for the best compatibility possible in smallest details if you want that. Open files section, go through it, read carefully and grab patches or combinations of patches useful features of DiDisaan's work that fits your mod list. When finished, check author's profile , visit each separate mod patches page and go through them and pick up some patches that "YUP" page didn't cover. Open LOOT and see if there are any notifications in it about that related to certain mods. If yes - visit each of that mod page and read carefully - sometimes these records are made for reason and are harmless. But if you will not find any information stating this - clean the mod using FNVEdit. How to do so - looke here. The M. If you don't have Merge Plugins or forgot why you need a to merge mods, return to stability section, step It's not hard at all - just do it slowly. Watch this video for "fast yet enough" instructions or this video for more in-depth turorial yes, it's for Skyrim, but there's no difference at all. Our main task now is to get amount of plugins to or lower. Merging process itself is very easy and the main issue is to know which mods you can actually merge. Try to merge the mods of same "common" category. Just grab some mods you want to merge and see if: - All mods you wanna merge are not directly conflicting between themselves, conflicts with base game. If answer to all 4 questions is "NO" - you can easily merge these mods in a few clicks using Merge Plugins basic functionality. If some mods don't fit the "rule", just leave exclude them from to-merge list. And now, the exciting detail! This indicator means that 2, 3 and 4 in "Rule of Three" you don't need to check for this mod already - only check the mods for conflicts in FNVEdit, make sure they are contiguous placed one after another in load order, you can do this manually , and add them to the merge : 3 Repeat this until you have as many mods to merge as possible and make the merge. Remember that in rare cases MP will show you errors in some mods, that doesn't mean crashes - you can ignore them to add this mod to merge as well, as showed on this screenshot. Note : in fact, both mods with. This said, merging both mods with navmesh records or. Such details are coming with experience and you should not be afraid of them - and you can always be sure that U. Run Wrye Bash if you don't have it or forgot why you need a Bashed Patch, return to stability section, step At the bottom, you'll see plugin called Bashed Patch, 0. Right-click on it and click on "Build Patch" option, click ok and build the patch. It will take some time. If the process will be interrupted with some errors popped in window - just disable the mod listed and build the patch again. This happens really rare, so most likely you won't even encounter that at. Now, watch the part of this video. Link is with timing, but just in case, you need to start watching from It's for Skyrim, but guess what - yeah, all the actions are the same for NV as well. The only difference that you need to name your merged patch as FNVMerged. After it's generated, open it and delete leveled records also shown in the video. Deleting the leveled records is needed as Bashed Patch that we made in previous step, handles this a bit better. Now, as some records were deleted, Merged Patch most likely will have several master files listed, but not needed. Right click on the FNVMerged. Close and save when asked. Check everything yourself. No automated tool is perfect - so when your Bashed and Merged patch plugins are ready, load them in xEdit and go through all sections in them yourself, seeking for irrational records. For example, you may see duplicated items on traders, wrong perks on enemies, or improper NPC visual records which often leads to infamous "dark face" bug. In other words, just go through without a rush and see if you'll see anything suspicious - and if you'll see such records, correct them by dragging proper values from the mods into the bashed patch records. Now, let's build our LODs in the best way possible! If you are still not quite sure what LOD is and why you need to do something about it, watch my video which explains that on fingers. Ready to get beautiful and matching distant views? Now, what you need to do: 1 First of all, backup your current LOD-related files. In it, create 2 separate folders. Great - now, if in any case something will go not right, all you need to do to "fix" your LODs and restore them to vanilla state is to delete respective files inside your Data folder and place back ones you wisely preserved. As that's a program and not a mod in usual meaning, you're running it's exetucable file itself, not through mod manager - that's why we made files backup before. But please take into account that all issues, if you'll have them, you should report to xLODGen forums, not the U. You did it! Your mod list is ready. Now, the final step. Proceed to Special Section in the very end of the guide. Then run LOOT the last time to sort your load order, and start your journey! Wan to support the development of this project? Don't forget this fix , this fix and retexture. You can merge them together without issues. Now, proceed to "Few Last Steps" section, just before the Modules section itself. Mod list: SGO for NV SGO is the definitive perk, enemy and balance overhaul I made myself after over a year of work, designed to make game much more challenging, rewarding and fun. Gas Masks of the World Also install all 3 update files. Good, let's continue. Also install this and this. T Power Armour Install the update as well. Tesla Weapons Pack Also grab the fix. Turbolaser Weapon Pack The next few weapon mods are completely optional - each of them is adding a single weapon of a certain type, to make a nice lil addition to total amount of guns in the game which was alredy much higher than the energy weapons, for which we grabbed 2 bigger packs above. ENB preset recommendations : no direct recommendations here - it's all up to you. Mod list: Project Nevada One of the core mods in our list. It also has great compatibility support to use with other great gameplay mods, and as for some other conflicting features that we'll have done better by other mods, we can just disable respective PN features in MCM. A great, solid base for a heavy mod list with many unique features. Choose all options during installation. Note: Lately, a decent amount of mods is available to replicate some of the most noticeable Project Nevada features asides from the game difficulty rebalance. It's stil not everything, but already most of them are available these mods are using more modern scripts and so, a better for a heavy-modded setup, especially if you'll be installing more scripted mods on your own on top of this module. It's quite easy! Mod list: Project Nevada Choose all options during installation. Note 2: Lately, a decent amount of mods is available to replicate some of the most noticeable Project Nevada features asides from the game difficulty rebalance. This means classic Fallout T. A little explanation here. Gobi Campaign scout rifle has 48 dmg at Guns and 24 dmg at Guns 0. This indeed gives the decent rewarding feeling for raising your skill, but also greatly adds to silly vanilla "sponginess" system. The thing is, weapon skills of most NPCs are between low and moderate from 15 to 40 usually. Heck, Brotherhood security chief, paladin Ramos, Energy Weapons skill is 13 wtf. This means that with vanilla formula, most of NPCs weapon dmg will almost always be twice as low, which gives you advantage out of nowhere. The need of this is pretty similar to the explanation about skill weapon damage influence - to minimize "sponginess" system due to most of NPCs having their weapons at pretty "used" condition. Anatomic Perks. Well Rested Overhaul. Alternative Repairing. Cover Based Stealth Mechanics Install both main files. More Conditions to Fast Travel. More Realistic Aiming Also install a fix for it. Immersive Recoil 2. FO76 Style Mutations. Addicted To You Remmeber that if some fetures will be too hardcore for you, they can be configured in ini file anytime. Caravan Travel - Fast Travel Alternative. Future Fallout Chems. Chemistry Set Cooldown. Saving Reworked - Fallout 4 Survival style and more. Realistic SFX. Mojave Raiders Don't forget to also install "Nipton Takeover Disabled" file if you have any mods that affect Nipton town overhauls. Brotherhood of Steel Wasteland Presence. Great Khan Wasteland Presence. Home On The Wastes. Unfound Loot "Balanced" or "Hardcore" presets are recommended to choose - but feel free to experiment ofc :. Take Chems Make Fiends. Encumbrance Damage With this, you'll be more sensible with their carry weight, and not just pick up everything they can find and walk half a mile towards a shop. Be Merciful. Tin Cans to Scrap Metal and Reverse. Dead Money Survival Rebalanced. Doctors Heal Companions. No Stealing After Repair. Loot Unconscious Victims. Couriers Stash Pre-order pack selector Recommendation here is to disablle all of them for balanced game start. Drag Things to other cells. Any glasses with any mask. Harvestable Cave Fungus. Honest Hearts Letter. A Crime Against Nature Abaoslutely amazing, innovative cannibalism overhaul. Optional as not every player decides to get this perk at all, but if you planning to - this mod is absolutely assential. Also install a complementary mod for it. Stamina Really great realism mod, yet, may be somewhat too much together with all mods in this module, for some players. Optional one. Try playing with it a bit on a test save and decide if you actually need it. Mod list: A few mods under the next spoiler are absolutely optional. NV modding stage has too low amount of melee weapon mods, so I've included some nice ones - they may or not fit your taste. Can be found in front of the Abandoned Shack. Machete True Killer. Sabre Weapon. Balisong Butterfly Knives. AE Seiryuu Beam Katana. Ka-bar knive by Eprdox. Happy Widow Powerfist Set. Melee Cleave a. Sweep An absolute innovation for any melee player. Makes melee attacks hit multiple enemies for a more satisfying melee gameplay. You can also turn same feature on for NPCs for even more fun. Poisonous Poisons A highly realisim-oriented mod, which will make melee gameplay much more challenging - but also giving you new features related to poisons you use. Optionally, but recommended, also install this little mod as a complementary one. Cover Based Stealth Mechanics Essential mod if you'll be playing more as a stealthy melee character, making assassinations more challenging - and just a great addition in overall. Fallout 4 Power Armor Features This mod is absolutely essential if you're planning to play as a "heavy" melee character. Just look on the list of features and you'll see why. Librarian Of The Wastes From a roleplay perspective, melee characters are often related with chems heavily - and this mod has a special perk for crafting chems with permanent effects. Future Fallout Chems And one more brilliant mod for crazy chem addicts. Stamina Optional mod which, if you like realism and hardcore gameplay, will add greatly to melee gameplay. Skirmisher - Throwing Weapons Expansion Same here. A Crime Against Nature. Cannibal Reborn AS per statistics, most of players who are taking Cannibal perk, are usually playing as melee characters. If that's a case - these 2 mods will be a game-changer for you. Converts cannibalism into a skill which must be mastered, and which can be taught to one's companions, gives new visual effects and more! It will be handled by another mod. Colossus t49xv Read mod installation instructions carefully. XV Sharl Armour. Tesla Weapons Pack Personally, my favourite energy weapon mod ever. Make sure to install a little fix for it. Photon Laser Weapon Pack. Recon Laser Weapons. Turbolaser Weapon Pack Laser power! Note: The last mod from these 3 Turbolaser one has quite OP weapon dmg stats, imo. You may want to adjust it in FNVEdit. Tactical Laser Rifle Energy weapons lacked in sniping ones. Here's a fix. Heavy Plasma Repeater. Plasma Boomstick. It adds plenty of badass and balanced features - from proper power armor sounds to completely new gameplay features and perks power jumps, Pain Train etc , but what if even more great - you can set these features to be applied to your followers AND enemies as well - for a much more challenging fights. Don't forget to install the update as well as "FO4 PA features T addon" that's why we disabled T armor mod plugin earlier. RobCo Certified Best complementing mod for science walkthrough ever. Plasma Spaz now has a small damage boost as well as the vanilla AP reduction effect, and also makes plasma weapons set enemies on fire with unique green flame effects. Meltdown NVSE Upgrade A minor yet essential overhaul of the Meltdown perk, to bring its workings under control and actually work as described. Should be a more interesting option to take for high crit builds. Most is especially useful for characters who prioritize Science skill. Librarian Of The Wastes A really original, rewarding mod with new features, which will be very useful as it's mostly wrapped around Science skill. Hand Loader - Vigilant Recycler Allows creation of a plethora of new ammo types, and even allows the crafting of ammo types in-game that were previously uncraftable and ofc, energy ones too. You're clearly not the only one smart enough to use weapon mods and better ammo, right? Recon Under Armor For muh immersion! Big Guns - Framework and Automatic Compatibility. Big Guns Skill Two optionat yet highly rewarding mods if you want to have Big Guns skill in its former glory. Cloud Grenades. Modules section complete! Now a few more sections that may be interesting to you. In your Fallout. In your FalloutPrefs. Also, you 4 Decrease AF quality. In your enblocal. This mod may give you plenty of extra FPS, depending on how weak your rig is. This one improves performance in combat by removing the muzzle flash light effect and shell casings. But, if your rig can't even run NV itself, that's an option. What this mod does is very simple. Yes, it's hosted on Skyrim mod section, but it works the same well for New Vegas too. If using it, don't forget to use these. INI settings. At the other hand though, due to how different the idea of the mod is to how game is designed, it can and will cause various compatibility issues with heavy-modded game on which most of you folks are aimed eventually in - and while mod has a few patches for other popular mods, it's not enough to cover all possible outcomes with heavy-modded setup. Additionally, NV itself was designed to end together with main storyline end for reasons - it's a story-driven game, and while you technically can enjoy the game after ending, it won't bring you much pleasure roleplay-wise - but this aspect is, ofc, just my 2 cents. May be incompatible with many other mods that affect UI - and definitely will be if you're running heavy mod list, causing various issues, from minor to game-breaking. Nevada Skies - Weather Effects A beautiful mod that adds a ton and a little wagon of new weather effects. Still, weather transitions are often looking really weird and rough, totally breaking the immersion the named weather effects in first turn, plus it will be incompatible with almost all ENB presets besides few those are configured directly for it and even those that are compatible will still have weird visuals from the mod itself anyway. Besides that, mod itself is pretty glitched for many weathers it has and certain weathers from it can affect performance really irrationally badly as for the weather mod. In other words, the initial idea with the mod is great, but due to limited NV capabilties in this aspect, its complex functionality is its own disadvantage and simply not worth it in terms of stability and polished experience if you're aimed on middle-to-heavy modded game. It's a great mod for purely vanilla walkthrough, but most of its fixes are also fixed or improved in other mods that you already have from the list. CaliberX The biggest ammo mod on NV Nexus, but sadly abandoned and having a lot of issues in it - glitches and incompatibilities with tons of other weapon mods. It also has much more better compatible alternative in the guide. Decide yourself if it's worth the trade. If you'll be using it, install shell casings retexture for it. Roleplayers Alternative Start Fallout New Vegas Great mod if you're bored from vanilla start, but it may conflict with many big mods, so just use with caution and only after proper testing. Enhanced NPC Awareness A great and somewhat even revolutionary mod that greatly improves detection of NPCs making combat much more realistic and challenging. Sadly, atm it has couple of pretty random but combat-breaking bugs which lead to neutral NPCs randomly attacking you on sight and some other weird combat behaviour. Track this mod - named bugs should be fixed in the next version. Monster Mod A huge creature mod, but it has many glitches here and there on regular basis, as well as some not lore-friendly creatures. Up to you. Honest Hearts Reborn A great quest mod which completely changes Honest Hearts DLC, but has quite spesific issue - for some reason most likely mod author leftover due inattentiveness, happens even to the best of us , this mod carries whole game scripts into itself, without any changes - basically having a duplicate of each game script in it. This is not dangerous technically if you're using let's say this mod only in your game, but as many other mods are doing this as well starting from YUP which fixes thousands of things in the game , it means this mod can overwrite some other mods script changes, and that it also doesn't carry countless YUP fixes. Experienced users can delete all the duplicated scripts need to be careful here and not delete vanilla scripts that were actually changed greatly by the mod. If you're not sure you can do this - better skip this mod, or make a completely separate walkthrough with it only. Optional cowboy holsters available. Brotherhood of Steel Unforgotten Really interesting quest mod with well-made voice acting, but sadly still having several really annoying glitches. Also has a patch for FCO. The Secret Bunker Big and original player home mod, but swarmed with glitches. Underground Hideout New Vegas V One more absolutely amazing player base mod, but also pretty bugged. Better Head Bits More head bits. Better Main Menu Highres option for those who prefer vanilla main menu. Cazaclaws Just for lulz, but why not? This mod has cool collector's idea, but it's not really needed from bonuses perspective. Still, that's up to you. Westside Restoration The mod itself is not causing game instability, but it's unfinished - still, much better then vanilla Westside. Vertibird Player Home Another really unique player home mod, but with a few non-crtical glitches, also incompatible with Project Nevada. Vending Machines of the Wastes - Part 2 Great and very comfortable, while arguably immersive mod and still with decent amount of bugs. Homing Projectiles Pretty much cheating. But well, if you wanna, who gonna stop ya? Hire And Recruit Hire and recruit anyone. Immersion-breaking, but still may look cool for some people. No Faction Armor Makes no sense from roleplaying aspect, but may be in someone's taste. GARU - Infinite ammo for your companions As it's seen from the mod name, it's pretty cheating as well. Bypass Minigames - Lockpick and Hacking Arguable solution, but may be useful for people who are bored from seeng that process again and again.
