I'm just asking this as it seems to make very little sense; I mean, I can understand with cheat mods and what-not, but when I tend to use mods like the R91 and Colt weapons mods, which happen to be available to both the player and NPCs, hostile and friendly, it makes very little to no sense. It's such an odd thing to do as previous Bethesda fare like Fallout New Vegas, if only partly created by Bethesda, and Skyrim didn't have this same rather petty restriction in place. I'm asking this as I'd very much like to know if there's some way around this; I've been getting the mods off of the Nexus, and I've yet to use Bethesda's own mod service. Does the mod's download location affect this? Showing 1 - 15 of 52 comments. I assume it's intended by Bethesda to stop people from cheating their way to achievements. I truelly believe it has to do with Xbox Live, and PC users get kicked in the back side because of it. Xbox gamers take their gamerscore serious, and cry to MS to stop any easy scoring. If the case is that they're pandering to console users, this is really going to kick them in the balls in later installments of the series; you don't just go alienating a far-greater audience just because a minority audience, who've mostly likely never even played Fallout before and bought Fallout 4 simply because of casual-oriented marketing, are demanding to be included. Originally posted by Cpt. McSausage :. I'll say this; I'm a Fallout fan boy, be it Interplay, Obsidian or Bethesda, I love them all for their overall setting, characters and places and nothing can ever dissuade me from clinging on to the title. Being a fan of retro-futurism and diesel-punk, I fell in love with the game's aesthetic and even found the story to be one of the most enjoyable I've ever personally played. Second was Fallout: New Vegas, which I also thoroughly enjoyed, albeit to a slightly lesser extent than Fallout 3 for reasons I'm still not sure of. The only Interplay titles I've ever played and finished are Fallout Tactics and Brotherhood of Steel, both of which were spin-offs of the original isometric titles to my knowledge and both of which showcased perfectly the dry, dirty humour of Fallout in all it's rugged glory. Whilst some additions, like that of a voice and dialogue wheel, are in my mind a non-issue in the case of the former and a tad-annoying in the latter, the vilification of mods for PC and the removal of Skills and Karma, two things which I felt helped the previous games thrive, is an outright farce. Conversely, additions like improved crafting and visuals have made this game one of my favourites in the series; but these things came at a cost, sacrificing other potential winning points in the process of their inclusion. If Bethesda does anything right with the next installment, and I believe that Bethesda has indeed done things right and made very nice improvements in some areas, it will be to re-include skills, karma and maybe even achievments-with-mods - perhaps while they're at it getting rid of the god-awful dialogue wheels. Yes, Bethesda, that stuff made me hate Mass Effect's abysmal conversation system and my god it's going to make me hate Fallout's. I had the same issue with Bethesda changing my load order and disabling some of my mods, to get around it, I install NMM from Nexus, I manage the load there in NMM and it locks your load order so Bethesda doesn't change it.
