The How To never worked well at least for me because it's based on the Fallout 4 LO where things work a little different. For example, I noticed a while ago that they insisted in keeping Ordinator as an Overhaul and recommended to place it high in the list. Is very wrong. I played Bruma, a very large and complex mod, using her LO and my game always felt as smooth as baby skin with only a few and mild performance drops in the City that are not LO related but part of Bruma for XB1 itself. Her mod Divine Cities is already optimized for performance and can't be used along any other mod that touches cities. Is really good. Riften will never be perfect, think Boston and take a deep breath :- Weather mods include their own Godrays, like Moribund for FO4, but even if True Storms can be used with Nytra's, in Skyrim is different. When using Mythical Ages I remember Arindiel mentioning incompatibility, and it makes sense. This particular mod has very intense rain and storms but looks great. My game ran fine. Unlike FO4 I never felt the need to use optimization mods and in fact the Godrays and Lensflare don't seem to affect the game as much. I've used Vivid Weathers and Mythical Ages, both are good but the second is smaller, has configurable settings for different effects and the best rain precipitation you can imagine. Landscape mods are another thing, if you remember in the original Skyrim we didn't have too many flowers in the cities but now Whiterun is covered with lots of them, and they re-spawn pretty fast. Mods that add more grass, flowers and trees seem to put a lot of strain on consoles. I think you can't go wrong with many of her mods. I didn't use many mods when using Bruma because Bruma has its own architecture, some animal textures, citizens with good AI and pathing, etc. But I likeTarshana's for the vanilla areas. Although some things can seem odd in the guide the guide is created and modified by actually playtesting. Some mods even though they fall into a different category just work better when placed in a different spot. Load orders can be tricky. Two mods that do different things can conflict for no apparent reason. As far as fps boosts go I personally avoid them. Most do more harm than good and from my experience if your game is to the point that you need them than it's usually too late already.
