I have just turned a corner in Minecraft Dungeons, a game that I gave up on for a few days after release , but I have since returned to it while I wait for new seasons of Destiny, Borderlands and Warzone to arrive. I was struggling to beat the content required to get to the final endgame difficulty, Apocalypse, but I had a few distinct realizations as I played. I know they look and sound cool, but with the way loot works in Minecraft Dungeons, they are largely pointless. I kept being held back because I was holding on to legendaries uniques lower than my level, only to change to a white or green rarity item and find that I was instantly doing way, way more damages. Legendaries, quite simply, are not special in Minecraft dungeons. By far the most important thing in the game is your power level. This means letting go of gear you like, dismantling it instantly to get enhancement points back, and upgrading a new piece of gear every few levels. It is simply too difficult to entirely rely on ranged attacks during Minecraft Dungeon runs because arrow drops are random, and you might get through a dungeon and barely find any. You should not be playing anything other than the max level of levels you have already beaten, or the minimum level of levels you have not beaten. Otherwise your gear drops are going to be much lower than they would be and you will pretty much never get anything useful. For the final stages to get to Apocalypse, I kept grinding earlier levels and max difficulty to get gear to beat the later stages on second-to-max, which was the minimum.
