A player in adventure mode cannot break blocks, but can still interact with things (buttons, chests etc) and fight things. Adventure is meant for player-made.

Over the years, Minecraft has come out with more and more features and content to keep the game fresh for the players. One of the biggest changes has been the inclusion of the buffet world creation option, as well as the adventure mode. These have made it even easier for players to manipulate the types of worlds they can build in for creative purposes, or even as a survival challenge. Adventure mode is perhaps the most unique mode currently in the game. Just as the name states, it's primarily made for adventuring purposes, with a big focus on exploration and a degree of realism. Adventure mode is pretty restrictive compared to survival and creative mode, but it has its own unique flair that makes it worthwhile. Most game modes are usually accessed before even loading up a map and spawning into the world. Players can choose between survival, creative or hardcore in the menu before generating the world they're going to spawn in. However, adventure mode isn't available in this menu. The only way to currently access adventure mode is through cheats. This means that the map needs to be loaded first and spawned into before the game mode can be changed. The biggest difference that adventure has compared to other game modes is the fact that blocks cannot be broken. This means that mining and harvesting wood isn't actually doable in this game mode. Similarly, dirt and sand can't simply be punched for it to drop as a block. Unless a tool has been marked through commands as a tool that has the power to break blocks, the player cannot interact with the world's blocks in any way shape or form. However, players with the world builder role in adventure mode also have the power to break blocks. Even though it's completely impossible to break blocks with one's own hands, adventure mode is still very much the same as survival mode in several different ways. Some of survival's core features are present in adventure mode, which can make it particularly challenging for players. Players still take damage normally from mobs and the general environment around them, and will have to manage their hunger and health just like in survival. This is all of course map-dependent, but if survival is loaded in a regular Minecraft world, it's very much the case. Since blocks can't be broken or harvested, there are obviously alternative things that make adventure mode so enjoyable and unique to play. Most adventure maps do in fact allow the player to interact with a narrow part of their environment in a way that's in service of the story or purpose of the map. Namely, players can still interact with various peaceful and hostile mobs , which in turn can unlock puzzles. Redstone mechanisms can also be interacted with normally, as well as any blocks such as crafting tables, furnaces, chests and so on. The way spawning works in Minecraft is quite interesting. The game essentially picks a large grid area in which the player will spawn in. This is to ensure that a player doesn't spawn in lava or other inconvenient places, so the spawning point might not always be the very same block. However, in adventure mode, the player will always spawn on the exact same block no matter what. Usually this will be at the world spawn, which is located at 0, 0 coordinates. Even if the terrain changes, the spawn will continue to be the same. By now, it's pretty obvious that this game mode isn't exactly intended for just any regular Minecraft map that gets loaded in survival. Usually, adventure mode is used by world builders and map makers for various Minecraft adventures that they've created for other players to enjoy. Maps can range from parkour maps to puzzle maps to even full on medieval fantasy quest games that take place in super elaborately crafted worlds. Either way, there are tons of different adventures to choose from, and it's absolutely worth giving some of these maps a shot. While it's true that in Bedrock and Java, breaking blocks isn't possible, there are still some strange differences depending on which version the player happens to be on. On console for instance, players who have the PS4 Edition of Minecraft will have a completely different experience in adventure mode. In this edition, blocks can be mined and placed. However, some blocks like wool, once placed, can only be mined using certain tools like shears or through an explosion, such as a Creeper or with the use of TNT. Let's say the player wants to play adventure mode, but in a regular survival map. This is actually possible, and is even considered a challenge in the Minecraft community. Similarly to hardcore difficulty, it presents the player with some unique difficulties. The primary way of surviving in this game mode is to find as many generated structures as possible. These are vital for the player, due to the amount of loot and other resources that can be gained from chests. Finding a villager in particular should be of utmost importance. Those wanting to truly thrive in adventure mode while playing on a regular survival map will soon find out that the greatest struggle is actually getting their hands on blocks. Since mining and chopping wood is impossible, it's time to get creative with other solutions. Creepers can be used to blow objects like trees up, which essentially breaks the object down into pieces of wood. If lured in properly, they can help the player with mining stone as well, although it's an extremely dangerous option. The most plausible way of getting any items in adventure mode while in a survival map is interacting with available mobs. This is why finding a village is so important. It allows the player to set up for trades with villagers , which can get them enchanted tools and gear that would normally only be available through mining. Similarly, hostile mobs are a great source of any cheap armor, rotten flesh for emergency food and even some weapons like bows and arrows. It might not be the easiest way, but it's an exciting game mode to challenge yourself with. Players expected Raiden and Beidou's abilities to work together after seeing what Raiden could do in the beta.
