Title update. Hide ads. Basanakin , 07 Mar 07 Mar 07 Mar Don't give me credit for this one. I used this guide several times, first to get the steam achievements last year and another time to get it for windows Follow the steps closely, and you'll soon know what to do before you even reached the half way point. The thing is that the early game part is always the roughest and this guide really helps you get through that. The actual guide: After selecting a Name do the following things: Day 1 Pause the game When it's already degree -1 level cold outside just restart - honestly. It's way more dificult with such a rough start, cause someone will probably become gravely ill, you can salvage the situation with signing radical treatment and overcrowding before signing soup but after childlabour, and the two shifts laws , but when you struggle with at the first days just restart untill the weather is for the first days. Do not turn on the Generator! Sign Child Labour Assign 15 workers or children to ever wood crates Build a Workshop behind the stockpile s Assign 15 people on steal. Resume the game until the workshop is finished Assign the 5 engineers and start researching Beacon Resume the game until and build 8 Tents and then 2 Medical Posts in the inner ring of the Generator. Promis that you will get housing for eveyone. Ignore the generator off warning s , when it's dergees you can turn on the generator for the night to have less sick. Sign the Emergancy Shift law next Day 2 For the second day have 5 engineers in the workshop, 10 in the medical posts, 10 people in each gathering post and the rest assigned to wood crates. At build a cookhouse next to the workshop and two more Gathering posts. Sign the Extended Shift law and put everything on extended shift. Day 3 Let the child of the worried Mother have a free day Research Hunters Gear next When it's cold and you have enough coal you can activate some heaters. Send the scouts further west, there should be a survivor location! You have to manage the coal income and heat distribution on your own. Don't have people work in freezing conditions! You can use the overdrive when you don't really need it the next day. People will get less sick and it doesn't use extra coal! Just turn it off in time Assign the cooks when still remaining to gathering. Sign the Radical Treatment law Don't give kids extra rations The next research is the Sawmill Escort the survivors home Build a second Workshop next to the first and a gathering post or 2 to gather coal. Dismantle empty gathering posts. Day 5 Assign atleast one person to the cookhouse. Don't worry if they want to kick you turn on the generator and use overdrive in a good moment to push discontent below the threshold. When you you have 10 or less ill assign 5 engineers from one Medical Posts to the second Workshop. When the amount of ill rises over 10 put all 5 back. Check for this every morning, 5 additional engineers researching speed up the reseach by a good amount! Research Steam Hubs Build a third hunters hut and workshop, two sawmills and 4 tends for the new survivors. Place the buildings so that the new tents and one sawmill can be heated with a steamhub. As well as the second sawmill, the workshop and one iron ore deposit can be heated by another steam hub later this steamhub should also heat a coal thumper with 2 gathering posts. Continue scouting in this direction untill you find new survivors and escort them aswell. When people get hungry again, assign some people to the cookhouse untill all raw food is processed. Sign the following laws in this order: House of prayer, shrines, house of healing, corpes disposal you may have to wait and push down discontent , organ transplants, evaning prayers, fighting arena. My suggestion for the order of further researches you should get: Stealworks, Coal Thumper, Drawing boards, sawmill upgrade, Generator power 1, Drafting machines, steam stealworks, improoved heaters, Bunkhouses, Steam coal thumper, hunting tactics, flying hunters, etc From now on I can't give you a clear recipe anymore. So I'll give more genneral Advices: Allways decline when your people ask for warming up their homes. If your people don't want to work extended shifts anymore, decline it let them work extended shifts. If they want better food and you discontend is high accept it and swich to regular meals until the promise is fullfiled, then switch back. Btw regular food is a very good way of bringing down the discontent, but it takes a while bevor the effect kicks in. Also beware that no one stops working to upgrade buildings. So when you need the upgrades to be done quickly, free up some adults form their work. Calculate how much heat and isolation you need in order to keep your house of healing warm enough during the next storm. Tech up quickly to the next tires, save recources for the important and expensive upgrades will be better then spending recources on upgrades, that are nice to have but not critical for your survival. Click the workers tab of the building to select and then dismiss ill workers and assign new ones general tab when you have other healthy workers. This way you can maximise the output of a building when you need it the most. You also can focus your workforce on better heated buildings, maybe you need to heat one gathering post less. Witout upgrades scouts are slower then the Storm, send them back in time. Don't try to get any relict out of the Dreadnoughts. Salvage the scouts when they are back during the storm and let them help elsewhere. When the engineers in the Workshop has nothing to do, put them out getting recources for their next research. Dont sign laws just because you can. But they might help in the long term so sign them when you feel not threatened by the cold. Don't destroy the Medical Posts until you need the space for additional housing, It is great to have engineers in there during a storm, when the House s of Healing is are full. Upgrade buildings not during Worktime, if not necessary! Don't build to many Steam Hubs and pay attentgion how long their are on. Don't be afraid to be the Bad Guy, overdrive often saves you when the people want to kick you Don't let people work when the workplace is very or freezing cold, when it is not absoulutely nessescary. You don't want amputies or dead people. Better to give them no job. Think about what you can get during the normal days but not during the storm. It is maybe beneficial to put workers out of a coalmine, which is also warm during the storm, into a sawmill that isn't. When you have ill, especially gravely ill people and free medical beds, they are still building a house or going to work, When you managed to survive the first 50 days you'll probably can make days, because the storms are not getting colder then - 10 levels for one day. Which is a bit sad in my opinion, but good for your achievement hunt. I didn't managed to get it on my first try, start a new game when you feel the game is practicly over. Think about what went wrong and how to improove. Good luck and have fun Captain! Leave a comment. Sign in and add a guide. Do you have a question about this achievement?
